MILITARY CLOSE ENCOUNTERS DURING WORLD WAR 2

Image
AUGUST 12, 1942   ……………..   TULAGI ISLAND SOLOMONS “Stephen J. Brickner, a sergeant with the 1st Marine Division, had an even more fantastic encounter with mysterious aerial objects.  “The sightings occurred on Aug. 12, 1942, about 10 in the morning while I was in bivouac with my squad on the island of Tulagi in the southern Solomons, west of Guadalcanal,” he recalled. It was a bright tropical morning with high banks of white, fleecy clouds. I was cleaning my rifle on the edge of my foxhole, when suddenly the air raid warning was sounded. There had been no ‘Condition Red.’ I immediately slid into my foxhole, with my back to the ground and my face turned up to the sky. I heard the formation before I saw it. Even then, I was puzzled by the  sound. It was a mighty roar that seemed to echo in the heavens. It didn’t sound at all like the ‘sewing-machine’ drone of the Jap formations. A few seconds later, I saw the formation of silvery objects directly overhead.  “At the time I was in a highl

UFO Depiction Published: 10:01 AM 9/14/2010 Thanks to Christian Mace for the submission. UFO photographed in Moustiers Sainte Marie in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, France, August 31, 2010 at 11:58 AM. The camera used was a "Pentax K2OD.": Thierry just addressed to me by email information about the photo and its expansion. Excerpt from email - "Hello I send you this other picture taken on top of the village of Moustiers Sainte Marie, Provence, August 31, 2010 at 11 :58 AM, in good weather and in the shade. Exposure time 1 / 750 s, F6, iso 200, 14mm. I had not yet had the opportunity to sort through my photos, but lo and behold, I noticed this strange shape that stands out well against the sky, and there is a metallic sheen. Location of Moustiers Sainte Marie, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, en France.”

Ufos in Air Force Skill Show

Image
2003 - “United Kingdom. Air Show. GOODWOOD FESTIVAL. Santiago Yturria writes, "On September 5, 2003, at the Revival air show, two aircraft were flying in formation above the crowd when a disc entered the formation at 1:35 PM. Aviation expert Don Berliner informs me that he identified the aircraft as a US Navy F4U Corsair, and a P-40 Tomahawk fighter in Chinese Flying Tiger markings. The disc is about one third the size of the P-40, that has a wingspan of 37.3 feet or about 12 to 13 feet. Simon, a 29-year-old from West Sussex was filming the event with a JVC Hi-8 PAL camcorder and his images are excellent.”

TWO DIAMOND SHAPED UFOS SPOTTED OVER BAYFIELD COLORADO. MAY 8, 2011 ….. BAYFIELD COLORADO

Image
MAY 8, 2011 ….. BAYFIELD COLORADO   “We were camping at the Pine Creek Campsite near Bayfield, CO, where two of our party had previously witnessed UFOs/strange lights in the sky. The craft appeared in the gap between two peaks, which is slightly west of true north. Initially, it looked like a single, white light, an excessively bright light, in fact. It’s hard to explain, but it was really, really bright – WAY brighter than any other plane or star. However, as it drew closer the white light seemed to separate into three smaller white lights in a perfect line with a red light hovering above it. Presumably, this was the top of the craft as it seemed to be descending. The truly interesting thing about this craft was that it was incredibly low, perhaps even 500 feet or less above our heads. It flew directly overhead and seemed to bank slightly before disappearing into the south – perhaps over Vallecito Reservoir. As it passed overhead and banked it became clear that this was a diamo

"Waxing Gibbous Moon"

Image
I am so fascinated of the moon. If the sky is cloudy because of the bad weather all the time I have enough time to look through my moon photos. Here a photo of the waxing gibbous moon (around 75%). Settings: I used the so called "HDR style": The bright moon was taken as video, the full moon was captured as a video for the dark site of the moon (Hello Pink Floyd) and the stars were taken seperately. In the end I merged all together in one single photo. Bright waxing gibbous moon: 2:20 min video: Sony α7 III + Sony FE 600mm f/4 GM (2x Converter = 1200mm), 1/100s @ f/11.0, ISO 200 Dark Moon: 2:10 min video: Sony α7 III + Sony FE 600mm f/4 GM (2x Converter = 1200mm), 1/80s @ f/11.0, ISO 800 Stars: Sony α7 III + Sony FE 600mm f/4 GM (2x Converter = 1200mm), 20s @ f/8.0, ISO 1600 Star Tracker: Fornax Lightrack 2 Processed in PIPP, Autostakkert, Astra Image and PS (Photoshop) By Stefan Liebermann

Are magnetic fields the key to black hole activity ?

Image
Collimated jets provide astronomers with some of the most powerful evidence that a supermassive black hole lurks in the heart of most galaxies. Some of these black holes appear to be active, gobbling up material from their surroundings and launching jets at ultra-high speeds, while others are quiescent, even dormant. Why are some black holes feasting and others starving?  Recent observations from the Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy, or SOFIA, are shedding light on this question. SOFIA data indicate that magnetic fields are trapping and confining dust near the center of the active galaxy, Cygnus A, and feeding material onto the supermassive black hole at its center. The unified model, which attempts to explain the different properties of active galaxies, states that the core is surrounded by a donut-shaped dust cloud, called a torus. How this obscuring structure is created and sustained has never been clear, but these new results from SOFIA indicate that magnetic field

Mysterious UFOs Seen by WWII Airman Still Unexplained

Image
They were cigar-shaped, glowed red and could turn on a dime. Which ruled out even the most sophisticated rockets of the time. By Adam Janos “It was nearly the end of World War II. But for the airmen of the 415th Night Fighter Squadron, it felt more like the beginning of War of the Worlds. Lt. Fred Ringwald was the first to see it. He was riding as observer in a night fighter piloted by Lt. Ed Schlueter, with Lt. Donald J. Meiers on radar. It was a late November evening in 1944, partly cloudy with a quarter moon. They were roaming the Rhine Valley just north of Strasbourg on the French-German border when Ringwald said, “I wonder what those lights are, over there in the hills,” according to an American Legion Magazine story on the sightings from 1945.” Credit: www.history.com
