Zhurong (Chinese: 祝融; pinyin: Zhùróng) is a robotic Mars rover named after the god of fire "Zhurong" in Chinese mythology that formed part of the Chinese interplanetary mission "Tianwen 1" to Mars. It was launched at 12:41 UTC+8 on July 23, 2020, from the Wenchang Spacecraft Launch Site, and reached the Utopia Planitia plain on Mars' surface on May 14, 2021.With the landing, China became the third nation to successfully land softly on Mars and establish communications from the Martian surface, after the Soviet Union and the United States.It landed on the surface of Mars on 14 May 2021 and the China National Space Administration has released the first pictures clicked by the Zhurong rover on12:29 PM · May 19, 2021.
